Featuring live instrumental performances, Popebama will perform new works by Queens-based composers Erin Rogers, Dennis Sullivan and Queens-born Paul Pinto, with early sets from Queens-based artists Stephe Cooper and Jessica Pavone.

Popebama formed in April 2016 when Erin Rogers and Dennis
Sullivan joined forces to perform a new work by Sullivan at JACK,
Brooklyn. The synergy of the two performers and combined interest in exploring experimental sound worlds launched a duo that has since wowed crowds as far west as Salt Lake City and as far north as Edmonton, Canada. Specializing in works conceived by Rogers, Sullivan, and composers such as Paul Pinto, Matthew Shlomowitz and Eric Wubbels, with upcoming works by Jenna Lyle, Daniel Silliman, and Andrew Greenwald, the duo has performed on the Permutations, Home Audio, Avant Garasement and Sound Traffic Concert Series with featured appearances at the Edmonton Fringe Festival (Canada), Diabolical Records (Salt Lake City), and the inaugural VU Symposium (Park City, UT), most recently performing for an ecstatic crowd at the 2017 New Music Gathering (Bowling Green, OH). Popebama will be featured at the inaugural SPLICE
Festival at the University of Western Michigan.

This event is made possible (in part) by the Queens Council on the Arts with public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council
