New Thread Quartet performs on Boston’s Advent Library Series!
We’re excited to be playing on the wonderful Advent Library Concert Series. Join us for sets by Matt Scutchfield, Earth Tongues, and New Thread Quartet.
The Advent Library Concert Series is a monthly program that presents jazz, modern, folk, ethnic, and improvised music. The Library space is intimate and enchanting, and has a great sound for small acoustic groups, especially. The series is curated by Matt Samolis.
The Concerts are at the Church Library on the corner of Mt Vernon & Brimmer Streets in Beacon Hill. Directions, parking info, and other church items may be found here:http://theadventboston.org/geninfo/direct.htm.
$15 door / $10 students
Michael Vince’s Live 45 series at Spectrum NYC is inspired by settling down to a cup of coffee and an old 45 record, with concerts featuring two new “singles” by composers. Our program will premiere two major works by Spencer Arias and Diarmid Flatley.
New Thread Quartet will perform an eclectic mix of works for saxophone quartet at the Monadnock Summer Festival in New Hampshire.

CVM is returning to Groove on Grove with music for cello, vibraphone, saxophones, and electronics. Adam Knauss’ White Fog is a stunning dreamscape for cello/sax/vibraphone. Steven Galante’s Saxsounds III, for two saxophones and electronic delay, shows how both beautiful and wild saxophones can be. Paul Leary’s Number Stations transforms coded spy messages into a driving music for electronics and saxophone. We’ll see you there!
