+ ANTI-SOCIAL MUSIC

Nuyorican Poets Cafe

New York, NY

In a display of one-upmanship, the enfants terribles that make up thingNY are writing concertos for and against one another. What is a concerto? Is it something you can feel? Something you can touch? Or is it something greater than ourselves? Something almost unknowable? Answers to these questions and more when we present the following new works:

Jeffrey Young – Concertino [world premiere]
Paul Pinto – Concerto for Sax [world premiere]
Erin Rogers – Chronolinea    [world premiere]
Andrea La Rose – Concerto for Anybody
Isabel Castellvi – Concerto for Everybody   [world premiere]

Then at 8pm, the original New York punk classicists, Anti-Social Music, take the stage for some avant-garde debauchery by Hess, La Rose, Lasaga, Muchmore and Sankaram.

It’s a new music cage match! Hoo-wah.
